Senior Accounts Executive (1 year contract) (Maritime/Shipping)

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable & Expense Management

Manage and process non-trade invoices and staff expense claims.

Coordinate finance-related invoice approvals and routing through DocuSign.

Review accounting entries and payment transactions prepared by outsourced finance providers.

Perform payment postings related to non-trade invoices and employee claims.

General Ledger & Month-End Closing

Prepare supporting schedules for journal entries and review postings made by outsourced providers.

Calculate and maintain fixed asset depreciation schedules (excluding vessels).

Update balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules during the month-end close process.

Ensure accounting records are accurate and compliant with company policies.

Cash Flow & Treasury Support

Prepare and monitor bi-weekly SGD cash flow forecasts.

Assist with loan facility administration, including verification of loan details, vessel information, repayment periods, and coordination of documentation and approvals.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance

Prepare and submit quarterly GST returns.

Support annual personal income tax reporting (IR8A) and ad-hoc tax clearance filings (IR21).

Assist with the preparation of corporate tax schedules and supporting documentation.

Audit & Financial Reporting

Coordinate annual audit confirmation requests and prepare supporting documentation.

Respond to ad-hoc confirmation requests from banks, auditors, and external counterparties.

Liaise with auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion of audit requirements.

Lease & Expatriate Administration

Review lease accounting calculations and related accounting entries prepared by outsourced providers.

Support finance administration related to expatriate accommodation arrangements.

Manage GIRO payment administration and other finance-related operational tasks as required.

Requirements

Experience in accounting, finance operations, or a related finance function.

Good understanding of accounts payable, general ledger, and month-end closing processes.

Familiarity with GST, taxation matters, and audit support activities will be advantageous.

Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate with both internal stakeholders and external service providers.

Salary Range : $4,500.00 – $4,800.00

Completion Bonus: 1 month's salary upon successful completion of the contract
