Social Media and Marketing Intern
About the role
Job Description
Most marketing internships ask you to resize graphics and follow a content calendar someone else created.
This role expects you to help build the calendar.
At Embrace Autism, we are looking for a Social Media & Marketing Intern who can help us turn more than 12 years of practical experience into clear, useful, and engaging content.
You will work closely with the team to build brand awareness, communicate our expertise, and help more parents, professionals, and members of the public understand what we do.
This is not a role where you wait for perfectly written instructions.
You may receive a rough voice note, an idea from a client session, a workshop takeaway, or a half-finished caption. Your job is to organise it, sharpen it, turn it into content, and help move it towards publication.
One day, you may be creating an Instagram carousel about social skills. The next, you may be editing a short-form video, preparing workshop materials, updating a content tracker, or helping coordinate a public event.
If you enjoy turning ideas into clear communication, building systems from scratch, and working in an entrepreneurial environment, keep reading.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
Plan and maintain content calendars for Instagram, Facebook, and other relevant platforms
Turn rough ideas, voice notes, session insights, and educational concepts into clear content
Write captions, hooks, headlines, short scripts, and educational posts
Create social media graphics, carousels, reels, and simple videos
Film or assist with filming short-form educational content
Edit videos using tools such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, or other similar platforms
Repurpose one idea into multiple formats, including reels, carousels, captions, articles, and workshop content
Research relevant autism, parenting, social skills, communication, and education topics
Support brand-building campaigns, workshops, talks, programmes, and community events
Track basic content performance, including reach, engagement, saves, shares, and enquiries
Identify which topics and formats perform well and suggest improvements
Maintain organised folders, content banks, photographs, videos, testimonials, and marketing materials
Assist with website updates, blog preparation, email communications, and programme listings
Help prepare presentation slides, handouts, certificates, forms, and event materials
Follow up on simple marketing, partnership, workshop, or event-related tasks
Use AI tools responsibly to support research, writing, content planning, and administrative work
Help the team get things done, even when the task does not fit neatly into a job title
This is a startup and building-stage role. Some systems already exist, but many still need to be improved, organised, or created.
You will be expected to contribute ideas rather than only execute instructions.
