Senior Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality software applications and enterprise platforms that support business and customer requirements.

Collaborate with product managers, solution architects, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established software engineering standards and best practices.

Participate in system design, code reviews, and technical discussions to ensure solution quality, scalability, and security.

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues in a timely manner.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of software architecture, development processes, and engineering practices.

Develop and maintain application programming interfaces (APIs), system integrations, and backend services where required.

Support software deployment activities and collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure reliable release management.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation for software components and system enhancements.

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the engineering team.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

10-15 years of software development experience in enterprise or commercial software environments.

Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or similar object-oriented programming languages.

Experience designing and developing scalable software applications using modern software development frameworks.

Familiarity with microservices architecture, and system integration principles.

Experience working with relational databases and database design concepts.

Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and version control systems.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Experience in financial services, fintech, insurance, or technology organisations.

Knowledge of secure software development practices and application performance optimisation
