Key Account Operations Manager - Logistics

This role is responsible for the end-to-end operational account management of strategic customers. The Key Account Operations Manager acts as the primary interface between Customer Service, Warehouse and Transport, ensuring seamless execution of logistics operations while maintaining high service levels.

The position focuses on rapid responsiveness, strong operational coordination and continuous process improvement. Alignment between customer requirements and internal operations are main focus to drive performance, service excellence and long-term partnership development.

In this role, you are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational relationship with key customers and ensuring high levels of service across the supply chain. Acting as the main customer contact, you proactively manage operational performance, resolve issues and escalations, and maintain strong communication with both customers and internal teams. You coordinate activities across Customer Service, Warehouse, and Transport functions to ensure smooth operations and compliance with agreed service levels.

The position also focuses on monitoring performance through KPIs and SLAs, identifying root causes of operational issues, and implementing corrective actions to drive continuous improvement. By optimizing processes, standardizing best practices, and supporting automation initiatives, you contribute to greater efficiency, scalability, and service quality. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, you align customer expectations with operational capabilities while identifying opportunities to enhance services and deliver additional value. Although there is no direct people management responsibility, the role requires strong leadership skills to effectively coordinate and influence cross-functional teams.

Work is performed in a combination of office and warehouse environment

Frequent interaction with operational teams and customers

Exposure to dynamic, fast-paced logistics operations

May require presence in warehouse operations to ensure alignment and execution

What we ask for

HBO degree equivalent through experience

Minimum 10+ years of experience in logistics and supply chain operations

Experience with WMS and ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Manhattan, JDA)

Proven experience in warehouse operations, customer service and transport coordination

Experience in managing complex, high-volume retail/e-commerce operations

Strong background in KPI management and operational performance improvement

Experience working with 3PL providers and external partners

Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)

Fluent in Dutch and English
