General Ledger Lead

Review and Approve:

Daily transaction reports and sub-ledger reconciliations.

Schedules for external audits.

Monthly books of accounts and periodic financial consolidation

Adjustment vouchers and miscellaneous reports/templates.

Fixed asset accounts and modifications to the general ledger/chart of accounts.

Initiate and manage requests for creation of new General Ledger (GL) accounts, ensuring alignment with chart of accounts structure, accounting policies, and business requirements.

Maintain trial balance hygiene through periodic reviews and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Conduct detailed scrutiny of General Ledger (GL) accounts to identify anomalies, ensure proper classification, and support audit readiness.

Oversee compliance for all statutory payment and reconciliation including Professional Tax, EPF, and ESIC, LWF etc.

Manage all manual journal entries, ensuring accurate posting within the designated accounting period. Monitor and confirm that no pending or unposted journal vouchers remain before period closure.

Perform intercompany transaction reconciliation to ensure accurate cross-entity accounting and timely resolution of mismatches.

Manage payroll accounting and reconciliation, ensuring compliance with financial policies and alignment with HR data

Close Calendar & Reporting Governance:

Maintain and enforce adherence to accounts close, consolidation, and reporting calendars across functions and units.

Issue clear close instructions to all relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate submissions. Circulate daily transaction reports to relevant teams for transparency and tracking.

Submit books of accounts, financial statements to Controllers for second-level review.

Financial Statement Preparation:

Prepare financial statements for all group entities on a periodic basis.

Conduct limited reviews and quarterly financial statement preparation in compliance with Ind AS

Prepare MIS to Financial EBITDA reconciliation based on updated draft IGAP financials.

Compliance & Audit Support:

Provide necessary support to audit teams and respond effectively to audit observations.

Implement corrective and preventive actions to address audit findings and strengthen controls.

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:

Act as the single point of contact for corporate, units for GL and reporting matters

Manage finance close and reporting operations to ensure timely and accurate consolidation of group accounts.

Oversee the timely completion of all statutory audits.

Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

System & Process Improvement:

Liaise with IT to resolve system-related issues impacting finance close and reporting.

Collaborate with IT and business units to drive continuous improvements.

Team Leadership & Performance Management:

Delegate and allocate tasks to managers and executives based on workload, urgency, and team capabilities.

Monitor processor performance regularly and recommend training interventions where needed.

Drive productivity and ensure targets are consistently met or exceeded.
