Claims Analyst
About the role
Position Overview:
The Claims Analyst requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, knowledge of claims processing, and the ability to interpret complex claim data and payment rules. The candidate must be able to identify discrepancies, resolve claim issues, communicate with internal teams or external parties, and maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
This position will report to the Claims Lead, Tiffany McKenzie.
Essential Elements
Accurately document claim files with all relevant claim documentation, correspondence and notes in compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory authorities
Verify, issue and review claim payments for accuracy, contractual adjustments and reinsurance treaty adjudicator.
Reconcile payment inaccuracies and process refunds.
Assist in the evaluation, development, and execution of the Specialty Risk Department claim programs bi-annual audits.
Support internal and external audit activities by preparing documentation, validating data, and assisting in audit responses.
Communicate with clients, brokers, and underwriters to gather information, clarify details, and provide claim loss report reports.
Contribute and assist in the implementation of a wide range of initiatives, discussion and action plans brought forth by management.
Assist and maintain workflow instructional material to support the Specialty Risk business continuity process.
Investigate insurance policy coverage, determine cause of loss, and document activity on each claim to come to a resolution quickly and accurately.
Participate in agent-related functions and meetings as required.
Requirements:
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Completion of a major insurance designation, or actively pursuing insurance related courses is preferred.
Experience:
5-7 years of claim handling experience
Travel:
Occasional travel to the home office (Oak Brook, IL) for all employee meetings, ability to attend seminars, conferences and/or Mediations/Trials
Compensation And Benefits
The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is
$62,500 - $78,100
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of the month following the first day of employment.
