The Team You’ll Join
If you are excited about selling modern SaaS solutions within a high-growth fintech environment - and driving platform adoption that transforms how RIAs operate - this is the role for you.
How You’ll Contribute
Envestnet is seeking an experienced and results-driven Platform Business Development Director to lead new business acquisition and platform expansion within the RIA segment. This role is focused on selling Tamarac as a core SaaS platform - including portfolio management, trading, rebalancing, billing, and reporting solutions - to independent RIAs. The ideal candidate brings a strong SaaS sales mindset and will be responsible for driving net-new client acquisition, expanding platform adoption, and positioning Tamarac as the operating system for advisory firms. This position is remote and based in the Western time zone.
Drive new SaaS sales of Tamarac to RIAs, positioning the platform as a comprehensive, end-to-end technology solution for portfolio management, trading, reporting, and operations
Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through close, focusing on net-new logo acquisition and competitive displacements
Develop and execute a territory strategy focused on acquiring $100MM+ RIA firms and scaling Tamarac adoption across the addressable market
Lead with a platform-first narrative, emphasizing operational efficiency, scalability, and advisor experience enabled by Tamarac
Partner with internal SMEs (product, integration, data, and services teams) to support technical discovery, demonstrations, and implementation planning
Drive expansion opportunities by identifying additional Tamarac modules and adjacent SaaS capabilities within existing client firms
Maintain a strong pipeline and forecasting discipline using Salesforce and related tools
Represent the Tamarac platform in market-facing activities, including conferences, client meetings, and industry events
Ensure adherence to Envestnet’s legal, compliance, and risk policies, including completion of all required training and documentation
What You’ll Need to Bring
8–12+ years of experience in SaaS sales, fintech platform sales, or technology solutions sales within the wealth management or financial services industry
Proven track record of selling complex SaaS platforms and achieving or exceeding quota in a competitive market
Deep understanding of RIA operations, including portfolio management workflows, trading/rebalancing systems, reporting, and billing
Strong ability to articulate technology value propositions and translate product capabilities into client business outcomes
Experience managing a full sales cycle with multiple stakeholders, including operations, CIOs, and firm principals
Excellent communication, presentation, and executive-level selling skills
Highly self-motivated with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Willingness to travel up to 50–60%
Nice-to-Haves
Direct experience selling Tamarac or comparable RIA SaaS platforms (e.g., Orion, Black Diamond, Addepar, etc.)
Existing relationships within the RIA community
Experience with technology-led business transformation conversations (vs. product-only selling)
CFP, CFA, or similar designation is a plus
