Compensation & Reporting Business Analyst

We are seeking a detail-driven and analytical Business Analyst to support the design, execution, and administration of incentive-based compensation programs and people analytics. This role works closely with the Manager, Pay Program Analytics to ensure accurate incentive calculations, compensation reporting, and workforce data insights across sales, warehouse, and driver populations. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the integrity of compensation processes, enabling data-informed decision-making, and supporting ongoing improvements to HR systems and reporting.

Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering & Analysis:

Design, develop, and optimize enterprise-level Power BI solutions, including complex semantic data models, advanced DAX calculations, executive dashboards, scorecards, and self-service reporting capabilities to support strategic decision-making.

Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot advanced SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and datasets to support compensation administration, workforce analytics, operational reporting, and data validation across multiple systems.

Lead the design and implementation of automated business processes using Power Automate and Power Automate Desktop, reducing manual effort, improving process efficiency, and ensuring data accuracy and compliance.

Design, develop, and maintain Power Apps solutions that streamline compensation administration, reporting workflows, approvals, data collection, and business operations while enhancing the user experience.

Collaborate with HR, Finance, Sales, Operations, and IT stakeholders to identify business needs, translate requirements into technical solutions, and drive reporting and automation strategies.

Manage data integration, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance processes across HRIS, payroll, compensation, financial, and operational data sources to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, process maps, data definitions, business requirements, and solution designs to support reporting, analytics, and automation initiatives.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating existing processes, identifying automation opportunities, implementing scalable solutions, and promoting best practices in reporting, analytics, and process automation.

Serve as the Power Platform subject matter expert for reporting, analytics, and automation solutions.

Develop scalable reporting and automation frameworks that support enterprise growth and evolving business needs.

Provide technical leadership and recommendations on Power BI, SQL, Power Apps, and Power Automate best practices.

Identify and implement innovative automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and business outcomes.

Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to define solution architecture and implementation strategies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of experience in compensation administration, business analytics, reporting, business intelligence, or related analytical roles.

Advanced experience with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and dashboard development. Advanced SQL skills required, including complex queries, data validation, and analysis. Experience developing solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Automate Desktop.

Experience with UKG or similar HRIS/ERP systems preferred.

Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing process automation opportunities to improve business efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Strong understanding of data structures, relational databases, and reporting best practices.

Experience translating business requirements into reporting and automation solutions.

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with attention to detail and accuracy.

Demonstrated experience building or supporting people and pay reporting and workforce analytics.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data in a clear, concise, and impactful way.

Preferred qualifications:

Advanced SQL experience, including query optimization, data modeling, views, stored procedures, and complex data analysis.

Experience building scalable Power Platform solutions utilizing Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Automate Desktop.

Experience developing automated reporting and business process solutions that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.

Experience working with large, complex datasets and designing solutions that ensure data integrity, performance, and usability.

Demonstrated ability to serve as a technical resource and business partner for reporting, analytics, and automation initiatives.

Familiarity with incentive compensation and variable pay programs.

Experience in sales operations, warehouse, or driver incentive environments is a plus.

Experience integrating data from HR, payroll, finance, and operational systems.

Knowledge of HR, compensation, incentive pay, workforce analytics, or people data models.
