About the role

Are you a charismatic front end design expert and Figma ninja? If so, Carmanah Signs is looking for you!

About Carmanah Signs:

Carmanah Signs is a leading provider of digital signage solutions for the lottery industry. We design, deliver, and operate dynamic content networks for regulated lottery clients around the world, powering in-store digital experiences at thousands of retail locations.

About the Role:

Our digital signage content applications are dynamic, game-based, jackpot-threshold-driven HTML/JS applications that run on media player and tablet hardware in retail environments. Demand for new content continues to grow, and as a result we're looking for a Product Designer to own the customer-facing design lifecycle of these applications. From gathering client requirements, through UX and content design, to working with developers and animators to bring content to production, you'll be the bridge between what our lottery clients need and what our content platform delivers.

This is neither a pure visual design role nor a development role. It sits at the intersection of UX, product thinking, and client engagement.

What You'll Do:

Own client-facing content engagements. Lead requirements gathering sessions with clients, translate business objectives into content app requirements, and manage the design feedback loop through delivery.

Design content experiences. Create UX flows, layouts, and content specifications for applications including dynamic jackpots, game promotions, planograms for instant games, and interactive tablet experiences.

Learn and apply our content framework. Develop deep working knowledge of our content app architecture (HTML/JS-based), meta tagging requirements, and the business logic that drives dynamic content (jackpot thresholds, game states, scheduling, etc.).

Design with hardware capabilities in mind. Understand the capabilities of our media player and tablet hardware, and ensure content designs are performant, compliant, and deliverable on the fleet.

Support portal UX. Apply your design skills to our client-facing web portals, helping improve workflows and interfaces, create user stories, and wireframe designs.

Support A/B testing and content optimization. Help structure content variants and tests for client campaigns, and incorporate findings into future designs.

Work cross-functionally. Collaborate with sales on new opportunities, marketing on positioning, animators on creative assets, and the development team on implementation.

Document and standardize. Maintain content requirements documentation, design specifications, and reusable patterns that make future content work faster and more consistent.

What You Bring:

5+ years of experience in UX and product design.

Experience in client facing roles. Demonstrated ability to gather requirements directly from customers and translate them into design specifications.

Technical aptitude: comfort reading and reasoning about HTML/CSS/JS-based applications, even if you're not writing production code.

Experience designing for constrained environments (embedded displays, kiosks, mobile, or similar) is a strong asset.

Strong communication skills. You'll be presenting and negotiating requirements with enterprise clients.

Organized and self-directed: able to run multiple concurrent client content projects.

Willingness to learn domain-specific systems on the job.

Experience with design / prototyping tools such as Figma (or equivalent).

Nice to Have:

Experience in lottery and/or gaming

Experience in digital signage

Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., AODA/WCAG)

Exposure to A/B testing frameworks and/or content performance measurement

What This Role is Not:

This is not an animator or graphic designer position. We work with dedicated creative resources for animation and visual assets.

This is not a sales or marketing role, though you'll collaborate closely with both, you represent the content product itself.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00-$110,000.00 per year

Benefits:

Casual dress

Company events

Dental care

Employee assistance program

Extended health care

Life insurance

On-site gym

On-site parking
