About the role

What to Expect

Tesla's mission is to build a world of amazing abundance, and to achieve it, we continuously innovate to deliver best-in-class products and services. We are seeking a driven and passionate Staff Product Manager to join our Documents Platform team. This is a group pioneering the transformation of how Tesla generates, redlines, signs, and stores documents intelligently and at scale, supporting vehicle, robotaxi, service, energy and other verticals.

As part of this team, you will design and implement tools that support document creation and lifecycle management across multiple document types and Tesla's broader product ecosystem. In this role, you will bring together technology and business teams to develop seamless solutions to complex problems by defining and executing a cohesive product vision and strategy. You will prioritize and shape the roadmap based on customer scenarios, partnering with engineering, UX, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable architectures that address current needs while anticipating future growth. Additionally, you will define and track KPIs to measure customer satisfaction and business impact, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making and balance competing priorities across new and existing customers, feature development, architectural improvements, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap to enhance and optimize Tesla’s homegrown documents platform, ensuring efficient document creation, template management and contract lifecycle management across our technology stack

Lead cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, QA, and Business teams to drive the development and continuous improvement of the documents platform

Act as the ultimate bridge between technical execution and business strategy, managing a complex set of diverse stakeholders while translating high-level vision into flawless execution

Partner with engineering teams to design and implement a scalable platform architecture that not only addresses current business needs but also anticipates and supports future growth and product expansion

Integrate yourself within the functional decision-making team by building strong partnerships with business teams to collaborate with them on new strategies/refine existing ones

Manage dependencies across multiple teams and initiatives, ensuring alignment and timely delivery of key projects

Collaborate with analytics and key stakeholders to define, track, and refine KPIs that inform data-driven business decisions for platform expansion

Balance priorities effectively between new feature development, architectural improvements and operational excellence aligning with overall business goals

What You'll Bring

5 to 8 years of experience in product management, with a focus on supporting the development and optimization of internal tools and services

Domain specific knowledge of document management systems that include document generation, e-signing and experience with vendor and supplier contract redlining

Prior experience in building contract lifecycle management (CLM) features that allow businesses to negotiate terms before signing and working with machine learning models that automatically flag risky clauses in inbound vendor contracts is a plus

Strong analytical skills with the ability to query and interpret data, trends, and algorithms, demonstrating comfort with logic and numbers to support decision-making

Relentless focus to shrink time to execute (TTE) contracts and error rates (minimizing instances of lost formatting, broken track-changes, etc.) across the documents platform

A proactive mindset, with a bias toward taking action based on available information and the ability to work through ambiguity

Success in leading new initiatives, driving results with limited resources and evolving information

Effective collaboration across cross-functional teams, balancing multiple competing priorities and fostering alignment among diverse stakeholders

Exceptional communication written and verbal is a must with experience presenting to senior executives

Degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent in experience
