Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking an experienced Project Management/Principal Project Management (Data Scientist) to join our team of qualified individuals within our Program Management Office. This position will be located at Melbourne, FL. Please note this is an individual contributor role and is not a management/leadership opportunity.

Please note that this opportunity is contingent on program funding. Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.

The successful candidate is expected to be a highly motivated, resourceful, self-starter able to work collaboratively with internal and external teams in high-tempo environments. This position will be expected to assist with reviewing status of projects and budgets, resource planning, preparing for and facilitating meetings, and supporting various administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the program to accomplish a variety of precise, time-sensitive monthly deliverables, metrics, and presentations

Collaborate across functions to ensure all objectives are met

Assist with monitoring cost & schedule performance, support business management meetings and reporting to program leadership

Turn raw program data into timely, actionable insight that drives improved decision making and execution efficiency across the program

Develop and implement data analytics tools/templates for monitoring project progress

Partner with Program Managers and other key stakeholders to identify, design, and develop areas that will drive efficiency for the program

Increase insight into prioritization and status of ongoing projects

Basic Qualifications for Project Management:

Bachelor’s degree with 2 years’ experience in project management OR Master’s degree

Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

Experience working with and manipulating detail-oriented data

Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company

Basic Qualifications for Principal Project Management:

Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience in project management OR Master’s degree with 3 years’ experience in project management

At least 2 years of experience in data analytics

Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

Experience working with and manipulating detail-oriented data

Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company

Preferred Qualifications:

Special Program Access

Experience with data analytics / data science

EVMS/CAM Experience related to managing and reporting on the health of a program

Aerospace and/or Defense Industry Experience

Prior work in a sustainment environment

Strong knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office products to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Project

Experience with large scale distributed software and agile software development methodologies

Experience or knowledge with UX design and development

Experience developing big data solutions related to elastic data storage and archive storage lifecycle management

Experience collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing insights from multiple data sources

Experience with NoSQL Databases and data analytics tools (e.g., MongoDB, Neo4J, python, Tableau, etc.)

Experience with dashboarding frameworks (Plotly Dash, Panel, Streamlit, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)

Proficiency in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries

Proficiency in Python programming for data analysis, manipulation, and automation

Primary Level Salary Range: $65,500.00 - $98,300.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
