Job Summary

Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled MuleSoft Lead Developer to join our growing Integration Services team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in MuleSoft's Anypoint Platform and a strong background in API-led connectivity, enterprise integrations, and cloud-based solutions. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor development teams, and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing integration solutions that enable business transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of enterprise integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.

Design, build, and maintain APIs and integrations following API-led connectivity principles.

Develop RESTful and SOAP-based services using Mule 4.x, DataWeave, RAML, and API Manager.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to MuleSoft developers through code reviews, design sessions, and best practice guidance.

Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable integration solutions.

Develop advanced data transformations using DataWeave and implement reusable integration components.

Build, deploy, and support MuleSoft applications across CloudHub and hybrid environments.

Implement API security standards utilizing OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, Client ID Enforcement, and TLS.

Troubleshoot performance issues and provide root cause analysis for production incidents.

Support CI/CD initiatives using Azure DevOps, Git, Maven, Jenkins, or similar technologies.

Ensure adherence to development standards, testing practices, and enterprise governance policies.

Work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable deployment and monitoring of integration solutions.

Stay current with MuleSoft platform enhancements and emerging integration technologies.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

8+ years of experience in software development and enterprise integrations.

5+ years of hands-on MuleSoft development experience using Mule 4.x and Anypoint Platform.

Strong experience with API-led connectivity and enterprise integration patterns.

Expertise in DataWeave, RAML, REST APIs, SOAP services, XML, JSON, and web services.

Experience with MuleSoft CloudHub, Runtime Manager, API Manager, and Anypoint Exchange.

Strong knowledge of API security standards including OAuth 2.0, JWT, SSL/TLS, and SAML.

Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor junior team members.

Preferred Qualifications

MuleSoft Certified Developer (MCD).

Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, JMS, or MQ.

Experience integrating Salesforce, SAP, Workday, Oracle, or other enterprise applications.

Exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.

Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, or ELK.

Compensation and benefits

The salary range for this position is between $83,600 – $140,500 per year, depending on relevant education, work experience, management experience, and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
