What You Can Expect
Support the monthly close and financial reporting activities for ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA). This role is responsible for preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and management reporting, while also supporting trade settlement accounting through subledger, cash, and intercompany reconciliations. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information.
Perform monthly close activities for the ENGIE Energy Marketing business unit, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and financial reporting.
Prepare intercompany billings and monitor intercompany receivable and payable balances, ensuring timely settlement and resolution of discrepancies.
Support Trade Settlement activities by preparing payment requests and assisting with cash-related accounting processes.
Assist with cash application and posting activities to ensure accurate recording of cash transactions.
Serve as a backup for other accounting team members to ensure continuity of critical accounting processes.
Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules, documentation, and analyses.
Participate in special projects, process improvement initiatives, system implementations, and other ad hoc assignments as required.
Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal control requirements.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in energy, trading, or commodity-related industries.
Strong knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Excel.
Experience with account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial analysis.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
