Purchasing Trainee/Apprentice/VIE

Valeo Shared Service is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Purchasing Trainee/Apprentice/VIE. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in procurement within a leading automotive supplier, supporting our purchasing department in daily operations and strategic initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

Assist the purchasing team with daily administrative tasks, including data entry, document management, and communication with suppliers.

Support the sourcing process by researching potential suppliers, preparing RFQs (Request for Quotation), and analyzing bids.

Contribute to supplier relationship management activities, such as performance monitoring and issue resolution.

Participate in cost reduction initiatives and assist in negotiating terms with suppliers.

Learn and apply Valeo's purchasing policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.

Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., logistics, quality, engineering) to ensure timely and cost-effective material acquisition.

Prepare reports and presentations related to purchasing activities and supplier performance.

Support the implementation of new purchasing tools and systems.

Job Qualifications

Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential; Spanish proficiency is a strong plus.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented with a strong willingness to learn.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Prior internship or work experience in purchasing, supply chain, or a manufacturing environment is a plus but not required.
