Business Manager

Employment type: Part-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, approximately 2 hours a day (10 hours a week total). Some flexibility on exact timing, but daily presence is expected, since the role includes tasks that need attention every working day.

Pay: £9,149–£10,521 a year (pro rata, actual salary for 10 hours a week, term-time only). Based on a £40,000–£46,000 full-time equivalent pay scale, depending on experience.

Love2Learn Education is a specialist SEND education provider working across Birmingham and the West Midlands, through tutoring, alternative provision and EOTAS.

We're looking for a Business Manager to lead our day-to-day operations, working closely with our Principal to keep systems, administration, recruitment and compliance running smoothly, so our education team can stay focused on the children and young people we support. The role is structured as roughly 2 hours a day, Monday to Friday, rather than condensed into fewer, longer days, since several tasks (enquiries, scheduling, day-to-day admin) need regular daily attention. This role sits at the heart of the organisation and is expected to grow into a senior operational leadership position over time, with a clear path towards Director of Operations or Chief Operating Officer.

What you'll be doing

Managing enquiries, coordinating learner onboarding, and maintaining our systems (TutorCruncher, Airtable)

Coordinating safer recruitment, references and DBS checks, and maintaining personnel records

Raising invoices, supporting payroll, and supporting VAT and Making Tax Digital administration

Maintaining policies and supporting GDPR, data protection and quality assurance

Supporting marketing, events, and becoming confident across our systems, including Microsoft 365 and AI tools

What we're looking for

Essential: experience in an operations, administrative or education-sector role; experience supporting recruitment and working within a safeguarding framework; highly organised with strong written and verbal communication; a systems thinker who enjoys solving problems; warm, professional and collaborative; comfortable working independently; suitable to work with children and young people, subject to an enhanced DBS check including a check of the children's barred list.

Desirable: experience as a School Business Manager, in HR, finance or project management; experience using Xero or TutorCruncher; understanding of SEND, EOTAS or Alternative Provision.
