Responsibilities

The Manager, Planning and Purchasing, oversees the company's supply chain, inventory strategies and procurement activities. This is a critical role that balances customer demand by forecasting needs, sourcing reliable vendors, and regular reviews of demand and supply to mitigate supply chain risks.

Key responsibilities include:

Demand Planning - Analyse historical sales data and market trends to forecast future inventory needs.

Inventory Control - Develop metrics to gauge inventory levels, prevent stockouts and minimise carrying costs.

Vendor Identification and Management - Adherence to company policy in dealing with vendors and suppliers.

Cross Functional Collaboration - Work with engineering, production and finance teams to support overall business objectives.

Supply Chain Continuity - Establish contingency plans to ensure supply, mitigate discruptions and manage operational risks.

Continuous Improvement - Lead the team in projects to improve efficiency, including process mapping and inventory optimisation.

Team Leadership - Involve in hiring, training, scheduling, performance review of team members.

About You

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering or a combination of education and equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience:

8 - 10+ years in manufacturing, planning, and other operational processes (purchasing, engineering)

Experience leading and managing diverse teams

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with production and planning processes

Ability to foster excellent supplier relationships

In-depth understanding and success implementing safety protocols and best practices

Experience in developing automation tolls in planning and production is highly desirable.
