Job Summary:
We currently have an open position for a Production Assistant to join our team on the day shift (7:00 am – 4:00 pm). This role is responsible for ensuring production paperwork is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner, conducting various inspections throughout the packaging process to validate compliance to various quality specifications for packaging inputs, outputs and in-process operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure Production paperwork completed is accurate and submitted in a timely manner
Perform routine in-process audits and packaging line output inspections
Conduct packaging line input inspections to ensure they meet quality standards
Perform basic quality checks; identify and correct issues
Enter and maintain accurate data entry in ERP systems
Assist in investigations related to batch/paperwork errors
Complete and verify inspection reports applicable to routine inspections
Support supervisors and operations team as necessary
Review and interpret specifications for various packaged products
Required Knowledge and Skills:
High school or equivalent
Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing facility
Experience using various measurement tools such as weight scales and torque wrenches
Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect deviations in production outputs, incorrect measurement readings, and processes
Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, including coaching production staff to complete paperwork and/or inspections logs, and provide guidance where needed
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to interpret and generate SOPs, and work instructions as needed
Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) for data analysis; strong mathematical knowledge is an asset
Working Conditions:
Work is performed at both production lines and in a warehouse setting
Must be able to lift at least 50lbs occasionally
Prolonged periods of standing and walking to conduct visual and physical testing of production line outputs
Overtime and flexibility to work a variety of shifts, as required
