Professionally Qualified Basic Grade Social Worker

Kilbarrack Childrens Disability Network Team

Part-Time (.5 WTE)

This is an exciting opportunity for a basic grade Social Worker to support children and their families in their community, presenting with complex needs arising from a combination of intellectual, physical, and/or sensory disabilities.

The Social Worker is a valuable member of the Childrens Disability Network Team (CDNT), will work as part of a inter-disciplinary team, in line with family centred practice and Progressing Disability Services (PDS) principles. Services are community based providing interventions and supports to children and families in their home, clinic, school and local community.

The structure with in each CDNT comprises of a Social Work Team Leader, Senior Practitioner and Basic Grade posts. There will be opportunities for training, regular clinical supervision and ongoing support is provided.

The successful candidate must have the following:

Essential criteria:

Degree or Masters in Social Work or equivalent

National Qualification in Social Work (NQSW)

Be fully registered with CORU

One year post qualification experience of working with children and families

Be committed to the delivery of high quality, person-centred, community-based services

Have excellent communication, time management skills and the ability to work in a self directed manner.

Full clean drivers license and access to a car

Desirable criteria:

Experience working in childrens disability services.

Have experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

A panel will be created for future employment opportunities.
