Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Key Responsibilities

Integrate PLC, SCADA and DCS systems with MES, ERP and enterprise platforms.

Develop industrial data collection and contextualisation solutions across manufacturing environments.

Configure and deploy industrial communication protocols including OPC UA and MQTT.

Support the development and implementation of Unified Namespace (UNS) architectures.

Design and implement OT integration solutions aligned with ISA-95 manufacturing architectures.

Develop SQL databases and support manufacturing data integration pipelines.

Support integration with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and ERP platforms such as SAP.

Collaborate with Automation, AI and Data Engineering teams to prepare manufacturing data for analytics and AI applications.

Support client projects through technical workshops, site assessments, solution design and implementation activities.

Deliver training courses, workshops and knowledge transfer sessions on OT integration, industrial networking and digital manufacturing technologies.

Develop proof-of-concept demonstrators and exemplar projects for DMI's Technology Centre and client engagements.

Collaborate with technology vendors to evaluate new OT, MES and industrial software solutions and identify opportunities for innovation.

Support the identification, evaluation and onboarding of new technology partners aligned with DMI's strategic objectives.

Represent DMI during client meetings, industry events, demonstrations and collaborative research projects.

Evaluate emerging OT technologies and contribute to internal research and development initiatives.

Key Skills and Competencies

Strong technical expertise in Operational Technology (OT) integration.

Experience integrating PLCs, SCADA and DCS platforms.

Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

Understanding of ERP integration, particularly SAP.

Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

Knowledge of ISA-95 manufacturing architecture.

Experience with OPC UA, MQTT and industrial communication protocols.

Strong SQL and manufacturing database experience.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Innovative mindset with a willingness to evaluate and implement new technologies.

Strong customer-facing and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to deliver technical training and workshops.

Experience working collaboratively with technology vendors and industrial partners.

Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical manufacturing solutions.

Key Skills and Competencies:

Qualifications and Experience Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering or equivalent industrial experience.

5 years' experience in industrial automation, OT integration or manufacturing systems.

Proven experience integrating PLC-based manufacturing systems with higher-level software platforms.

Experience with Ignition or Delta V, SCADA or Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

Experience integrating Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP.

Familiarity with industrial networking and communication standards.

Experience supporting manufacturing digital transformation projects.

Desired Skills (Advantageous)

Experience implementing Unified Namespace (UNS) architectures.

Knowledge of Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing principles.

Experience with cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud).

Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity principles.

Experience with historian platforms and manufacturing data analytics.

Experience within Medical Device, Pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing industries.
