About the role
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Regional Marketer is a key member of the Marketing organization and is responsible for driving successful execution of Rigel's oncology portfolio strategy. This role will play a pivotal role in the successful launch and commercialization of VEPPANU (vepdegestrant), while providing appropriate lifecycle marketing support for TAVALISSE (fostamatinib), REZLIDHIA (olutasidenib), GAVRETO (pralsetinib), and future oncology assets.
Working in close partnership with Brand Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and other cross-functional partners, the Senior Regional Marketer translates national strategy into regional execution. Through deep customer engagement, KOL partnership, actionable insight generation, and execution of peer-to-peer education and regional marketing initiatives, this individual helps optimize launch performance, strengthen customer advocacy, and inform ongoing commercial strategy.
This highly visible role requires exceptional oncology commercial expertise, strong matrix leadership, and the ability to influence without authority across a broad cross-functional organization.
Salary Range: $200,000 to $245,000
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer & KOL Leadership
Develop and maintain deep relationships with regional and national academic and community Key Opinion Leaders, treatment influencers, and strategic accounts.
Continuously assess regional treatment dynamics, competitive landscape, customer needs, and evolving market opportunities.
Identify, cultivate, and strengthen advocacy for Rigel's oncology portfolio, with primary emphasis on VEPPANU. Lead regional advisory boards and customer insight initiatives that directly inform commercial strategy.
Support national KOL engagement strategies during major oncology congresses.
Launch Excellence
Serve as a regional commercial leader supporting the successful launch and adoption of VEPPANU.
Execute regional launch initiatives aligned with national brand strategy.
Partner with Brand Marketing to optimize launch tactics based on evolving customer feedback.
Identify opportunities to accelerate adoption throughout the launch lifecycle.
Regional Marketing Execution
Lead execution of regional peer-to-peer education programs.
Manage the regional Speaker Bureau, including speaker identification, development, training, utilization, and performance metrics.
Partner with agency partners to ensure effective educational execution.
Lead regional marketing activities at national, regional, and local congresses.
Strategic Insights
Generate high-quality customer insights that influence national brand strategy.
Identify emerging trends in treatment patterns, competitive activity, customer sentiment, and unmet needs.
Recommend refinements to messaging, customer engagement, educational programming, and tactical investments.
Help prioritize regional marketing opportunities based on business impact.
Cross-functional Leadership
Partner closely with Sales Leadership to customize regional execution while maintaining alignment with national strategy.
Appropriately collaborate with Medical Affairs on KOL engagement and congress planning.
Serve as a marketing representative on a variety of cross-functional workstream teams.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
7+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology commercial experience.
Oncology commercial marketing or sales experience required.
Recent breast cancer commercial experience highly preferred, particularly in ER+/HER2- metastatic breast cancer.
Experience supporting successful oncology product launches strongly preferred.
Experience engaging in both Academic and Community Oncology KOLs.
Experience working within matrix organizations.
Experience translating customer insights into commercial strategy.
Active KOL relationships in current geography
Proficiency in the development and execution of marketing initiatives
Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding qualitative and/or quantitative goals
Strong team player and motivated individual contributor
Strong written and oral communication skills
Highly professional person with high ethical standards and integrity
Bachelor's degree in marketing or related fields (required); MBA (preferred)
Position requires significant travel (e.g., key customer engagement, advisory boards, medical conferences, home office visits, etc.).
Travel post-launch approx. 35-50%
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $200,000 to $245,000. The actual salary offered will depend on several factors, including experience, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
This position is commission-based and is eligible for equity incentive awards, subject to the terms of the applicable plans. This position is not eligible to participate in Rigel's annual bonus program.
