Job Description
Purpose of Position
To support GM of VMU Operations, all Workshop Managers and their teams, monitoring compliance in terms of Health & Safety, legal, environmental, quality and procedural requirements.
Closely liaise with Workshop management teams to maintain facility efficiency in relation to adherence to company and legal processes, equipment and facility maintenance.
Maintain all owned and leased equipment to required standards, taking into consideration LOLER and PUWER. Monitor subcontract suppliers in terms of and compliance to DPD health and safety procedures.
Key Task & Responsibilities
Generate, control and update all Workshop Risk assessments, safe-operating procedures and work instructions as required
Monitor facility compliance in regards to Health & Safety standards within the working environment
Investigate all accidents at work
Complete required documentation and input into solution host system
Monitor absence and ensure compliance to Company procedures in relation to return to work interviews and attendance procedures record keeping
Carry out return to work interviews where necessary and support local workshop managers though absence procedures, ensuring company procedures are implemented to a single standard across all sites
Maintain training records for all Workshop staff
Organise and administer training courses as required with technical trainer
Induct new staff and maintain / develop induction documentation
Ensure all work experience inductions are conducted and all students are managed appropriately
Ensure all staff have valid IRTEC Licences or planned bookings for the training
Ensure all equipment training is up to date for all employees as required
Carry out periodic site inspections and produce action plans to resolve any issues identified
Ensure all driving licences are on DAVIS and weekly checks are completed, reminder email sent out in regards to expiry dates and check authorisation
Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve any problems identified on facility inspections
Report any local issues, lack of compliance, poor husbandry etc to Workshop management and monitor improvements
Maintain equipment register for all facilities
Ensure all equipment is maintained to certified or calibration schedules
Ensure all licensed equipment is maintained in line with the Licence requirements
Carry out random tool inspections to ensure engineers own tools are compliant with Health and Safety and maintenance requirements
Ensure all site equipment is maintained within prescribed schedules
Oversee all apprentices training in relation to vocational studies, performance, attendance and monitor feedback
Maintain apprentice training records
Carry out quarterly appraisals with all apprentices and produce reports for management consideration
Maintain compliance to Company procedures including: - Health & Safety, Environmental management procedures, ISO quality procedures, Transport procedures
Maintain authorised supplier records
Arrange and manage all agency staff scheduling including verifying and submitting time sheets
Processing of invoices in a timely manner
