About the Role

As a QA Automation Engineer (Playwright), you will make an impact by driving high-quality software delivery through test automation, API validation, database testing, and AI-assisted quality engineering practices. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with development teams, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure robust and scalable testing solutions.

In This Role, You Will:

Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and C#.

Execute and enhance API and database testing to ensure application reliability and data integrity.

Support Agile delivery teams through in-sprint automation and regression test execution.

Leverage AI-assisted testing tools to improve testing efficiency, productivity, and quality outcomes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, automate, and continuously improve testing processes.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2–3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Hartford, CT . What You Need to Have to Be Considered

Strong experience with Playwright automation using C#.

Hands-on experience with REST API testing and test automation.

Strong SQL skills with experience validating and testing databases.

Experience working within A gile development environments , including in-sprint and regression automation.

Proficiency with Azure DevOps for test management and delivery workflows.

Experience utilizing Copilot, GenAI, or AI-assisted testing tools within the software testing lifecycle.

Understanding of AI-generated code validation, prompt engineering, and AI governance/guardrails in quality engineering.

Experience building scalable and reusable test automation frameworks.

Exposure to modern Quality Engineering practices and continuous testing strategies.

Familiarity with AI-driven test optimization and test data generation.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $53,477– $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
