About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented Software Release Management - Lead / Engineer to closely work with stakeholders on the end-to-end software release management lifecycle. This critical role ensures timely, high-quality, and compliant delivery of software updates for Android Apps across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong coordination and communication skills.

Release Management

Oversee release schedules: Manage and update project timelines and schedules.

Coordinate release deployments: Push builds to pre-production and production channels, ensuring all pre- and post-deployment procedures are followed.

Manage release candidate selection: Create branch cuts and select appropriate release candidates.

Ensure compliance: Prepare all necessary release artifacts to maintain compliance with platform requirements (e.g., Play Store).

Issue Resolution & Monitoring

Monitor build integrity: Track builds and communicate with engineering teams to address any build failures or release blockers.

Facilitate testing efforts: Collaborate with testing teams for coordination of requirements and verification of release blocker bugs.

Drive blocker resolution: Work with engineering teams to incorporate essential code changes (cherry-picks) and resolve release blockers.

Communication & Documentation

Stakeholder communication: Keep stakeholders informed about project status and release launches.

Maintain documentation: Update and upkeep all release-related documentation.

Skill Requirements

Required Qualifications

Experience: 3-5 years of proven, hands-on experience in a dedicated Software Release Management role, with proficiency in one or more software release management platforms / tools.

Availability: Must be willing and able to work Monday through Friday during the night shift, with working hours aligned with the US Pacific Standard Time (PST) zone. This shift requirement is mandatory.

Android App Development: To have Android App development and troubleshooting experience.

Process Management: Demonstrated ability to manage complex schedules, coordinate dependencies, and drive resolution across cross-functional teams e.g. Engineering, QA, Product and Support teams.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a track record of effectively communicating complex technical status to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and release orchestration tools.
