[What you will be working on]

The successful candidate will work in the EHI and be part of a multi-disciplinary team that will focus on urban vector species in Singapore. You will oversee and be part of various inter-disciplinary projects and collaborate with partner teams. Key ongoing projects involve the i) study of Aedes albopictus and its control in a mosquito release programme; and ii) the use of pyriproxyfen in the boosted Sterile Insect Technique-Incompatible Insect Technique (SIT-IIT) approach. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution and quality of entomological activities including laboratory studies, vector surveillance, mosquito identification, sample processing and data analyses. You will also be responsible for team supervision, training and development, as well as the preparation and maintenance of logistics and resources.

[What we are looking for]

Master’s Degree or above in Life Sciences or related disciplines preferred

At least 2 years of relevant experience in entomology or related life sciences

Supervisory or project leadership experience would be an advantage

Leadership and team management skills

Able to work independently and lead cross-functional teams

Able to systematically plan, execute and oversee routine and complex workflows with an eye for detail and quality assurance

Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and develop team members

Good knowledge in Microsoft Office and data analytical tools, with the ability to analyse, interpret and present results

Physically fit and possess the physical endurance for the challenges of field work

Proficient in scientific writing, reporting and communications

Valid Class 3 driver's licence with willingness to travel to field sites preferred (vehicle provided if available)
