We are seeking a talented individual to join our NSW Public Sector team at Marsh. This role will be based in our Sydney office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Senior Financial Analyst will support the financial management and reporting of Public Sector mutual schemes in NSW. You will be responsible for daily accounting and month-end activities for the NSW branch, while working closely with senior finance leaders and the wider finance team to strengthen reporting, controls and process improvement.

We will count on you to:

Prepare monthly statutory accounts, supporting notes and audit files

Maintain accurate branch accounting records and complete month-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations

Prepare the monthly Business Activity Statement and support income analysis, expense reviews, debtor management and board reporting

Assist with budgeting, forecasting and other financial analysis, including reporting on key initiatives

Manage incoming finance correspondence, accounts payable processing and bank account maintenance

Support auditors, finance system users and the wider team with ad hoc projects, process improvement and operational tasks

What you need to have:

Bachelor of Business, Accounting or Finance degree

8+ years of relevant accounting experience

Well-developed technical accounting knowledge, including month-end close, reconciliations and statutory reporting

Advanced Excel, Word and Outlook skills, with the ability to manage confidential information, meet deadlines and handle competing priorities

Experience with Oracle, OneSource Accounts Production or similar financial systems

Exposure to public sector, mutual scheme or similar financial reporting environments

Experience supporting finance process improvement or management reporting
