THE ROLE

As the Senior Project Officer, Housing First for Young People Leaving Care in the Leasing Projects team, you will lead the delivery of the Housing First for Young People Leaving Care housing component. The program is led by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and will support 225 young people with leaving residential care with intensive support for 3 years and guaranteed housing for a minimum of 2 years.

You will advise and coordinate the responsibilities of registered housing agencies and DFFH staff, including within operational divisions, Homes Victoria and the Housing Call Centre. You will develop partnerships with registered housing agencies and support engagement with the public housing system to ensure secure housing outcomes. You will support the delivery of housing services by registered housing agencies by maintaining housing program guidelines.

You will require a high standard of stakeholder engagement and the ability to provide authoritative responses to complex and sensitive problems for internal and external stakeholders. You will apply a systems thinking approach to issues the program presents with an ability to research, analyse and present findings to combat the issues.

You will also bring a strong knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 as well as an understanding of the public and community housing system.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

Successful co-ordination of housing outcomes across multiple stakeholders.

Undertake all project management activities in accordance with departmental processes.

Provide authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed briefs and reports.
