Job Description Summary

MEP Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works for projects in Japan, ensuring quality, safety, compliance, and on-time execution. This role works closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to manage project risks, drive stakeholder alignment, and support efficient end-to-end project delivery.

About the Role:

Lead MEP project delivery across planning, coordination, execution, and closeout for projects in Japan

Strong management of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works, ensuring quality, compliance, and alignment with project requirements

Effective coordination of consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to maintain project timelines and delivery standards

Proactive risk, issue, and change management, including escalation, mitigation planning, and resolution of technical or delivery challenges

Solid knowledge of Japan building regulations, statutory requirements, safety standards, and permit or approval processes relevant to MEP works

End-to-end project oversight, including review of drawings, technical submittals, procurement coordination, testing, commissioning, and handover activities

Strong stakeholder collaboration, working closely with clients, project teams, landlords, suppliers, and regional partners to ensure smooth delivery

Disciplined budget, reporting, and schedule management to support efficient and transparent project execution

About You:

5-7 years of relevant experience in MEP project management, building services, construction, or infrastructure delivery

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management, or a related field

Proven track record of managing MEP scope across complex commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects

Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across design, installation, testing, and commissioning

Familiarity with Japan codes, compliance requirements, contractor management, and local project delivery practices

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across internal teams, consultants, and external vendors

Business-level Japanese and English language capability preferred for project coordination and reporting

Proficiency in project management, reporting, and documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, scheduling platforms, and construction management systems

Proven problem-solving, coordination, and risk management capability in fast-paced project environments
