About the role

Role Summary

Senior Software Developer – Credit & Risk (SSD) will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications to ensure successful delivery of assigned projects (custom or product strategy) and change requests.

SSD will be responsible for strategic design and mapping of business requirements and solutions into system/technical requirements as well as recommending best practices for solutions based on client business needs.

SSD will also be responsible for writing technical specifications (for custom development, system integration, etc.) based on requirements directly from the customers and/or Business Analysts.

During project execution, SSD will support the Project Manager to initiate the project(s), contribute and support the project team with technical expertise to ensure successful delivery. SSD will be fully responsible for managing Domain level artifacts aligning to client's project methodology.

Responsibilities

Client and service oriented, the Senior Software Developer monitors within a project the quality of the technical deliverables.

Involve early in the project to perform workshops to capture client requirements and to follow project / product roadmap.

Author Product Design and Technical Specifications and support Business Analysts during initial analysis, solution proposal and cost estimation.

Perform development estimations and impact analysis for functional stories as well as change requests.

Conduct project risk identification and mitigation action planning with the project manager.

Collaborate with Project Leads, Business Analysts and broader IT team to resolve issues and ensuring solutions are viable and consistent.

Provide technical guidance to off-shore application development team.

Develop medium to complex applications and ensure the product matches the technical specifications.

Perform various tests to ensure deliverable is working as expected (Unitary test, Integration test, System test).

Provide support to clients in the user acceptance testing phase (enquiries, execute batch jobs in the simulation environment, resolve errors, etc.).

Support and adhere to client's Methodology and continuously contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's or Higher Degree in Engineering, preferably in Computer Science, IT or relevant fields.

More than 10 years of software development experience with a proven track record working with distributed delivery teams across geographies.

Experience in a banking environment is imperative, ideally Private Banking or Wealth Management.

Professional Skills

Knowledge of Private Banking and Wealth Management mainly on banking products such as Credit and Risk Systems.

Sound knowledge & experience in latest development methodologies including Agile, DevOps.

Strong programming skills and well experienced in developing, designing, coding, testing and debugging.

Institutionalise and drive knowledge management processes across the product space.

Technical expertise : S2i Application, COBOL, DB2, GIT, GITLAB, SPLUNK, SQL, DBeaver, Eclipse. APIs & Digital Banking is a plus.

Extensive experience of business and technology change – identify, document, analyze and improve business and system processes and user journeys.

Previous experience on core banking product (Temenos-T24, Avaloq, Olympic etc) systems implementations for global clients.

Working as part of a team, sharing knowledge to help others and mentor junior team members.

Ability to influence the technical direction of the organization outside one’s own team.

Keep abreast of Wealth Management / Private Banking market trends, technological advances to incorporate appropriate changes in our product offerings.
