What to Expect:

The Business Controller serves as a strategic business partner, providing financial leadership, insights, and performance visibility to support effective decision-making and business planning. This role will analyze financial results, identify risks and opportunities, and deliver actionable recommendations to the Finance Director, business leaders, and Management Committee. As a change agent, the Controller drives continuous improvement initiatives and ensures the successful implementation of actions that enhance business performance and financial outcomes. This position is an existing vacancy.

A day in the life:

Co-Piloting

Own the process and planning of annual budget (OP), monthly forecasts (DF) and monthly closures (PEC), in collaboration with the finance analysts and respective department within the scope

Ensure forecast accuracy in all areas, perform monthly and yearly variance analysis and proactive recommendations to anticipate and reduce potential gaps

Develop and improve financial insights and analysis to improve effectiveness of business decision making and planning accuracy

Pro-actively initiate the identification of cost savings with involvement of Co-Pilot analysts team and act as change agent in the deployment of recommendation

Own the identification of process and tool improvement of annual budget (OP), monthly forecasts (DF) and other Co-Piloting activities

Coach finance analyst to properly support the management team and their departments on their budget follow-up responsibilities

Support the team of analysts to lead analysis, interpret data and make recommendations regarding investment decisions, and coach them to effectively present these decisions

Reporting

Responsibility and ownership of budget, variance reports internal and with our Head Quarter

Deliver recurring and ad-hoc management reports on all key performance indicators within the scope (topline, P&L, working capital, capex, etc.)

Leadership & Development of Finance Team Talents

Responsible for coaching the Financial Analysts to support business co-piloting and enhance decision support towards senior Management

Coaching and sharing best practices & experience with Financial Analysts team

Projects

Responsible for providing financial support for their respective departments and their projects

Develop business cases and financial modelling for key projects, pricing and profitability using verified and sound assumptions as well as relevant sensitivity analysis

Responsible for data integrity through accurate financial setup of local ERP, including price and cost information

Drive new analysis, tools development, and process improvement with focus on financial, performance and efficiency

Role Requirements

Bilingualism in English and French language skills are a requirement, as this position requires collaboration with stakeholders across the Canadian market

6+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership experience and a strong background in a Controller capacity

Experience managing a team or previous supervisory experience a must

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

CPA designation (or equivalent recognized financial designation) required

Strong experience in financial controlling, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting

Experience partnering with senior leaders and executive management

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Experience with ERP systems; exposure to multiple platforms is an asset

Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Compensation Range: $98,614.00 CAD – $129,430.00 CAD + bonus eligibility
