Job Description:
The Deputy Manager - SCM Logistics & Inventory Controller will be responsible for managing plant logistics, inventory control, warehouse operations, material planning, and supply chain coordination to ensure seamless production operations. The role focuses on optimizing inventory levels, improving material flow, ensuring on-time deliveries, reducing working capital, and driving supply chain excellence within the manufacturing plant.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Control
Monitor and optimize inventory levels to support production requirements while minimizing excess stock.
Manage cycle counting, stock reconciliation, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
Analyze slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory and drive corrective actions.
Ensure adherence to inventory control policies and procedures.
Drive inventory reduction and working capital improvement projects.
Logistics & Warehouse Operations
Oversee inbound and outbound logistics activities.
Coordinate transportation, shipment planning, and delivery schedules.
Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
Ensure compliance with EHS, quality, and company standards within warehouse operations.
Optimize warehouse utilization and material handling processes.
Supply Chain Planning
Collaborate with production planning, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure material availability.
Monitor material shortages and proactively mitigate supply risks.
Support S&OP and demand planning processes.
Track and improve logistics and inventory KPIs.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, freight service providers, and internal stakeholders.
Resolve logistics and supply chain issues impacting plant operations.
Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) and delivery commitments are met.
Process Improvement
Drive Lean, Continuous Improvement, and Supply Chain Excellence initiatives.
Identify opportunities for automation and digitization in inventory and logistics processes.
Support implementation of ERP and warehouse management system enhancements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related discipline.
MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain Management preferred.
Experience
6-10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Control, or Warehouse Management.
Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably electrical, electronics, automation, or industrial products.
Hands-on experience with SAP ERP, inventory planning, logistics management, and warehouse operations.
