Job Description
Position Overview
As the Senior Analist, Tax, you will be responsible for complying with all tax and legal obligations for the entity. The tax analyst will work closely with multiple functions to ensure the company is complying with any current and future tax obligations. This individual will work from issuing invoices to performing tax planning along with Controller/Country Manger and International team (Finance/Tax) and must be a self-starter, well organized, possess excellent computer skills, be able to multi-task and enjoy the challenge of taking on new and exciting opportunities.
Responsibilities
Ensure the company is in compliance with all Brazil tax and legal obligations.
Prepare and submit monthly and annual tax filings, including monthly VAT and withholding tax returns and annual income tax returns.
Collaborate with accounting to ensure accuracy of purchasing records to prepare monthly tax filings.
Maintain tax compliance tracker to ensure compliance and timely filings of all obligations
Review of agreements/contracts to ensure they are properly reported
Support the monthly close process and ensure assigned tasks are completed timely
Support annual financial statement audit with preparation of workpapers, audit report and communication with management as needed.
Research and analyze the impact of current and new tax regulations in country.
Highly skilled with indirect taxes in multiple states and cities
Support the implementation and enhancement of internal controls.
Communicate and coordinate with Accounting, Tax, Treasury, International Finance Operations, etc. teams at Chicago office.
Required Skills
Advanced English
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, law or administration
5+ years of progressive consultancy, accounting, tax, or audit experience
Ability to adhere to monthly, quarterly, and annual department driven deadlines.
Strong coordination / organization skills with attentiveness to timelines
Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products is required
Strong interpersonal skills – able to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
Responsible, dependable, and possessing an exceptional work ethic
Desired Skills
CPC or CPA equivalent preferred
Public accounting firm or multi-national organization experience preferred.
Prior experience in energy and/or service industry is preferred.
Prior experience working in companies that uses BPO services
Prior experience with TOTVS (Protheus)
