About the role
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Automation Engineer with deep, hands-on technical expertise to join our team.
In this role, you will be the driving force behind our continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, complex system automation, and automated container workloads. This role has a heavy emphasis on Python development for DevOps and automation. You will design and optimize complex workflows, write robust automation scripts, manage self-hosted runner infrastructure at scale, and implement automation utilizing containerized technologies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Simply listing tools on your resume is not enough - we require a strong engineer with a proven track record of using Python as their core language to automate infrastructure and pipelines.
Responsibilities
Write, test, and maintain robust and clean Python scripts and tooling to automate complex infrastructure management, systems administration, and pipeline tasks
Design, configure, and maintain advanced GitHub Actions workflows using YAML, context variables, matrix strategies, environment configurations, caching mechanisms, and complex artifact management
Build, secure, and scale self-hosted runners and runner groups within restricted enterprise environments, including handling network and proxy constraints
Author and maintain highly reusable workflows through workflow_call, composite actions, and managing custom action versioning and publishing lifecycle
Package Python-based automation workflows into lightweight, portable containers using Docker or Podman, and manage, version, and deploy these containers to enterprise registries such as Artifactory, Azure Container Registry, or GitHub Packages
Leverage serverless and ephemeral virtual environments such as Azure Container Apps or ephemeral GitHub Runners to host, scale, and troubleshoot containerized workloads
Enforce CI/CD security best practices, including least-privilege tokens, environment protection rules, CODEOWNERS, signed actions, and action pinning
Provision, scale, and manage infrastructure components using Terraform and configuration management tools within an Infrastructure as Code approach
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
At least 3 years of professional relevant experience in DevOps or automation engineering
Advanced Python mastery with proven experience writing production-grade Python scripts and tools designed specifically for systems automation, API integrations, and DevOps processes
Hands-on engineering experience in CI/CD with demonstrable delivery evidence using GitHub Actions
Proven experience configuring, managing, and scaling DevOps tools such as GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform in production-grade environments
Strong proficiency with Docker or Podman container lifecycle, container registries, and deploying workloads onto ephemeral services such as Azure Container Apps or Kubernetes
Practical knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TLS, DNS, proxies, and firewalls, along with automated security workflows
SRE mindset with hands-on experience in pipeline telemetry, monitoring, troubleshooting, and conducting root cause analysis for automated workloads
English at C1 level or higher, with strong written and verbal communication skills
