Job Description

Primary Function of Position

The Sr Business Analyst for SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) will possess both the technical and functional understanding of the business processes and will be a key person implementing business processes software solutions and systems implementation. He will partner closely with our business stakeholders and project teams in the US to deliver multiple EWM warehouse management deployments. He will support implementations on SAP S/4HANA with Embedded EWM and Decentralized EWM, including integration touchpoints with SAP TMS for transportation planning/execution.

The role will be of a systems solution expert for identifying, analyzing, refining, translating, and finally documenting business requirements from ISI business teams.

Essential Job Duties

Analyze business processes, perform fit-gap analysis as required, and provide ISI business teams with cost efficient proposal on inefficiencies and risks to determine appropriate process and system design.

Create functional specifications and work with cross-functional teams and development teams to deliver the technical objects.

Review and contribute to design document, configuration documents and functional specifications.

Conduct unit and Integration testing and regression testing.

Support ISI’s production processes and all associated business systems functions.

Work with ISI IT and business teams to optimize and streamline business processes and technical solutions.

Identify gaps between current and future state of business processes and helps in prioritizing opportunities to improving processes through the usage of Business capability matrix (BCM)

Participate in business user meetings to gather process information for sound system solutions.

Collaborate and provide inputs to the development team during development phase to meet the business needs.

Help business teams on reporting requirements on the reporting team working in conjunction with the data warehouse team.

Conduct QA validations and participate on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) tests.

Support, assist and train the users on new modified system configurations highlighting the impact on business processes.

Maintain IT Business system integrity and application notes, system upgrades, changes, and user updates.

Work closely with onsite team, offshore team, managers, and executives to ensure the release of high-quality solutions.

Follow the Intuitive change management process. Analyze impact of changes to the corporate application landscape

Required Skills and Experience

Key Responsibilities

Lead requirements gathering and process design for inbound, outbound, internal warehouse, and inventory processes across global deployment projects.

Translate business needs into EWM functional designs (process flows, functional specs, configuration rationale, test scenarios).

Configure and support EWM capabilities such as:

Master data & org structure (warehouse, storage types/sections/bins, work centers, HU types, packaging specs)

Inbound (ASNs, GR, deconsolidation, putaway strategies, VAS, quality/inspection touchpoints where applicable)

Outbound (picking/waves, packing, staging, loading, shipping)

Internal processes (replenishment, physical inventory, stock transfers, slotting/rearrangement as applicable)

Labor/resource concepts (queues, RF framework, work management basics where used)

Drive integration design and validation between:

S/4 IM/MM/SD and EWM (embedded or decentralized)

SAP TMS EWM (freight unit/freight order processes, shipment execution handoffs, staging/loading confirmations, status updates)

External systems (carriers, 3PLs, automation) via IDoc/API/EDI where applicable

Support RF framework and mobile warehouse execution requirements (screen flows, transactions, validations).

Own and execute test cycles: unit testing, SIT, UAT support, defect triage, regression, and cutover rehearsals.

Collaborate across time zones with US business/process owners:

Run workshops, document decisions, manage action items, and ensure timely follow-ups.

Support go-live and hypercare:

Issue triage, root cause analysis, configuration adjustments, and process stabilization.

Contribute to a reusable deployment approach:

Templates, playbooks, configuration standards, and best practices for future rollouts.

Typical deliverables

Business process maps (current/future state), fit-gap analysis

Functional design documents (FDD), configuration workbooks

Interface/integration requirement documents (EWM–S/4, EWM–TMS, external)

Test strategy, test scripts, defect logs, sign-off documentation

Cutover plan inputs, training materials, SOPs, and user guides

Experience

Minimum of 5 years designing and configuring SAP EWM for implementation, support, and upgrade project.

Knowledge of EWM integration with TMS, LES, MM

Experience working with business end users, gathering requirements, and building detailed functional design specifications.

Ability to work with minimum supervision or guidance.

Ability to work in a team environment, effectively interacting with others.

Able to work independently and consider cross-functional and downstream impacts with close attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required Education and Training

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience

Strong experience with EWM implementations or production support, including integrations with ERP and third-party applications
