Job Title: Senior Synon (CA 2E) Developer – RPG

Job Description

We are looking for a highly experienced Synon (CA 2E) Developer with strong RPG expertise to support enterprise application development and maintenance. The role involves working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams in a German-speaking environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain applications using CA 2E (Synon) and RPG on IBM i / AS400 platforms

Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications

Perform application enhancements, bug fixes, and production support

Work on system integration, code reviews, and performance optimization

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business users, QA, and project stakeholders

Participate in requirement discussions, solution design, and documentation

Ensure adherence to development standards, coding best practices, and project timelines

Provide L2/L3 support for critical applications when required

Communicate effectively with stakeholders in German (C1 level mandatory)

Required Skills & Experience

6+ years of hands-on experience in Synon (CA 2E) development

Strong expertise in RPG (RPG III / RPG IV / ILE RPG)

Experience working with IBM i (AS400) systems

Good understanding of SDLC, debugging, and support processes

Strong communication skills in German (C1 level – mandatory)

Experience working with European clients/environments preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Contract Contract length: 12 months

Pay: 62.400,00€ per year
