The Health and Wellbeing team is a specialist team with responsibility for H&W programmes, globally. The purpose of the Health and Wellbeing Team is to promote and protect the overall H&W of BT people. We achieve this by developing: H&W vision and direction, group KPIs, policy, frameworks, and minimum standards; by providing expert advice, guidance and support; and by undertaking or commissioning independent assurance activities.

The role holder is responsible for providing specialist administrative support for BT’s Occupational Health and Wellbeing Team and delivery of key processes, giving appropriate advice to the business (colleagues, line management, HR) and working with other CofE’s to enhance the health and wellbeing of employees and promote safe working practices.

What you will be doing

Manage a range of occupational health and wellbeing processes from referral through to completion.

Provide advice, guidance and signposting to employees, managers and HR colleagues.

Coordinate Health Surveillance programmes including Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome, Noise, Aerial Rigger, Airside Driver, Forklift Truck (FLT), Confined Space, Emergency Response Team, Chauffeur and Seafarer Assessments.

Manage pre-placement health screening referral outcomes and ensure timely progression of cases.

Support medical retirement processes, including indicative advice, definitive opinions and appeals.

Manage industrial injury and extension to sick pay claims.

Support pension-related health cases, including child incapacity claims and early payment of deferred pension benefit applications and appeals.

Process Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), litigation requests and other confidential medical record requests.

Manage complex occupational health cases, ensuring accurate records and timely communication with stakeholders.

Work closely with colleagues across BT, HR, occupational health providers and other specialist teams to deliver effective services.

Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to projects, campaigns and continuous improvement activities that enhance employee health and wellbeing.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential

Demonstrates empathy, professionalism and a strong understanding of employee wellbeing when supporting others.

Uses data, insight and knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures to identify issues and implement practical solutions.

Desirable

Have experience working in occupational health, health and wellbeing, HR or a related field.

Have knowledge of workplace health and wellbeing services and support programmes.

Have an understanding of occupational health processes, health surveillance or medical case management.

Have experience supporting process improvement activities or service improvement projects.

Have knowledge of UK health and wellbeing legislation and best practice, including GDPR, the Equality Act and the Access to Medical Reports Act.
