Data Platform Engineer (Contract)
Skills
About the role
This is the build-the-plumbing role. You'll stand up and run the data platform that everyone else builds on, for a large regulated organisation modernising its data estate.
What you'll do:
Build and operate the Snowflake platform on AWS, running on OpenShift.
Own CI/CD for data: deployment pipelines, environments, and the tooling that lets data engineers ship safely.
Treat infrastructure as code and keep the platform reliable, observable, and secure.
What we're looking for:
Strong Snowflake platform experience, not just querying it.
Solid AWS and container experience, ideally OpenShift or Kubernetes.
Real CI/CD experience applied to data workloads.
An infrastructure-as-code mindset and a habit of automating the boring parts.
Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot as part of your everyday workflow.
Bonus points for experience in a regulated or financial services setting.

We're a certified B Corp.
We're also serious about AI-assisted engineering. We've built our own agentic tooling and cut time-to-merge by around 60% on recent work, and our people get to use that on real projects.
