About the role
The researcher will work at the intersection of materials science, chemistry, data science, and laboratory automation to identify promising materials, guide experiments, and establish relationships among material composition, processing, structure, and performance. The research will aim for electronic, ionic and advanced energy material system.
Position Requirements
Recent or soon-to-be-completed PhD (within the last 0-5 years) in field of materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, computer science, or a related field
Experience operating and troubleshooting laboratory automation or robotic systems
Knowledge of system integration, instrument control, workflow automation, and data acquisition
Experience developing and applying AI/ML methods, including predictive modeling, active learning, or optimization
Strong programming skills in Python and experience with scientific computing and machine-learning libraries
Ability to work across experimental, robotic, and computational systems in an interdisciplinary research environment
Ability to model Argonne’s core values of impact, safety, respect, integrity, and teamwork

The expected hiring range for this position is $72,879.00-$121,465.00.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
