Responsibilities:

LPL Financial is seeking an AVP, Data Product Owner to lead the Transactions, Positions, Balances, Tax Lots, and Books and Records (TBAR) data domain.

This role serves as the designated business owner for enterprise accounting and recordkeeping data products that support advisor platforms, operations, supervision, performance reporting, billing, compensation, money movement, regulatory reporting, enterprise analytics, and institutional data distribution.

The AVP is accountable for product strategy, governance, Source of Record (SOR) alignment, data quality, stewardship, lifecycle management, and adoption of TBAR data products. Working closely with BETA, Trading, Operations, Finance, Compliance, Architecture, Engineering, and Data Governance teams, this role ensures trusted, scalable, and consumable books and records data products delivered through APIs, shared services, and enterprise data platforms.

Requirements:

Data Product Ownership & Strategy

Serve as the business owner for Transactions, Positions, Balances, Holdings, Tax Lots, and Books and Records data products.

Define and execute product vision, roadmap, governance framework, operating model, and consumption strategy.

Establish business definitions, critical data elements (CDEs), metadata, data contracts, and enterprise standards.

Define and monitor product KPIs, adoption metrics, data quality indicators, reconciliation measures, and business value outcomes.

TBAR Governance & Data Stewardship

Establish and maintain Books and Records ownership models, Source of Record (SOR) strategies, and authoritative data source hierarchies.

Partner with BETA and other recordkeeping platforms to deliver trusted transactions and positions data products.

Ensure consistency, completeness, and integrity of transaction, position, balance, holding, and tax lot data across operational, reporting, advisory, and analytical platforms.

Drive improvements in data quality, lineage, transparency, reconciliation accuracy, exception management, and audit readiness.

Partner with Compliance, Risk, Finance, Operations, and Enterprise Data Governance teams to ensure regulatory and policy alignment.

Data Product Lifecycle & Delivery

Own and govern the end-to-end data product lifecycle: Define Build Publish Operate Enhance.

Partner with Architecture, Engineering, and Delivery teams to translate business requirements into scalable data products, APIs, and shared services.

Ensure governance, controls, quality standards, and business outcomes are embedded throughout solution design and delivery.

Support expansion of TBAR capabilities across recordkeeping, trading, custody, and operational data sources.

Stakeholder Leadership & Value Realization

Act as the primary point of accountability for TBAR data products across business and technology organizations.

Align stakeholders across Operations, Trading, Finance, Advisory, Compliance, Architecture, Engineering, and Analytics teams.

Communicate roadmap priorities, risks, dependencies, and strategic recommendations to leadership and governance forums.

Monitor product adoption, operational performance, business outcomes, and value realization.

AI & Automation Enablement

Leverage AI tools and platforms to identify automation opportunities across TBAR data products, reconciliation processes, controls, and operational workflows.

Design, implement, and optimize AI-enabled agents and capabilities that improve data quality, stewardship, governance, and operational efficiency.

Evaluate and integrate governed AI solutions that enhance data product operations and business outcomes.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Business, or related field.

8–12+ years of experience in Wealth Management, Brokerage Operations, Custody, Asset Management, Capital Markets, or Financial Services.

Experience in Data Product Ownership, Data Governance, Enterprise Data Management, Product Management, or Operations leadership roles.

Strong understanding of transaction processing, positions, balances, holdings, tax lots, accounting data, and books and records concepts.

Experience working with recordkeeping platforms, operational accounting systems, or enterprise books and records environments.

Strong knowledge of Source of Record (SOR), Critical Data Elements (CDEs), data quality, lineage, metadata, stewardship, and governance practices.

Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving operations, finance, compliance, governance, architecture, and technology teams.

Demonstrated proficiency leveraging AI and automation capabilities within data management and operational environments.

Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.

Core Competencies:

Familiarity with APIs, enterprise data platforms, and large-scale data distribution architectures.

Experience with data governance platforms, metadata management, lineage tools, and data quality frameworks.

Experience supporting regulatory reporting, supervision, compensation, billing, performance reporting, and operational analytics.

Preferences:

Experience supporting BETA, transaction accounting, books and records, or recordkeeping platforms.

Experience with transaction lifecycle management, settlements, reconciliation, position management, custody operations, and operational accounting processes.
