About the role
Product Manager Data Catalog & Metadata
Do you believe that a modern data-driven organization requires not only a strong data platform, but also a clear and trusted understanding of its data? Do you want to shape how data is made discoverable, traceable, and also ready for advanced analytics and AI? Do you want to help shape the future of how our organization uses data, making it AI-ready and future-proof?
We are looking for a Product Manager who will lead the implementation and adoption of our Enterprise Data Catalog, while shaping the business vision and requirements for our enterprise data platform.
In this role, you will act as the business owner for metadata and data discovery capabilities, defining how data is structured, governed, classified and made discoverable across the organization. You will work closely with the platform owner and engineering teams, who remain responsible for the technical delivery and operation of the platform. By driving the catalog roadmap and adoption, you will help establish a shared understanding of data assets, ownership and metadata standards, enabling trusted and reusable data products across the organization.
Your role:
As Product Manager, you are responsible for the vision, roadmap, implementation and adoption of the Enterprise Data Catalog and metadata capabilities, enabling data discovery, lineage, and transparency. Furthermore, you shape how data is defined, cataloged, governed and discovered on the Data Platform (DMAP).
You act as the central point of alignment between business and technology, ensuring that platform and metadata solutions jointly support business value and regulatory requirements.
You combine strategic direction with functional leadership, aligning business, platform and data management teams while directly leading a small, focused team.
Your responsibilities:
Define and drive the product vision and roadmap for metadata and Enterprise Data Catalog.
Guide and support the implementation of metadata capabilities via the catalog, improving data transparency, discoverability and reuse.
Prioritize and manage the product backlog, balancing business value, AI needs, regulatory needs, and technical evolution.
Define and maintain business requirements, standards and criteria for how data assets, datasets, metadata and data products are managed and represented on the Data Platform (DMAP).
Ensure strong alignment between data platform capabilities and metadata/catalog solutions.
Drive the adoption of the catalog across business and IT domains.
Enable the organization to understand data flows, lineage, and definitions, supporting trusted decision making.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and data management stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
Establish and improve ways of working, standards, and governance related to platform, catalog and metadata.
Provide leadership and direction across business and technology teams, ensuring continuous improvement while directly leading a small, focused team.
