About the role
Job Purpose
We are working on behalf of a leading firm of accountants recruiting for an Audit Manager, who will be responsible for managing a portfolio of audit clients and leading audit engagements from planning through to completion. The role ensures that audits are delivered in compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements while providing high-quality service to clients. The Audit Manager will supervise audit teams, review work, manage client relationships, and support business development within the practice.
Key Responsibilities
Client Portfolio Management
Manage a portfolio of audit and assurance clients across a range of industries.
Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the audit process.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure high levels of service and client satisfaction.
Identify opportunities to provide additional services to clients.
Audit Planning & Delivery
Plan and manage audit assignments from start to completion.
Review financial statements and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or UK GAAP).
Develop audit strategies based on risk assessments.
Ensure audits are completed within agreed budgets and deadlines.
Team Leadership
Manage, supervise, and review the work of audit seniors, auditors, and trainees.
Provide coaching and technical guidance to audit staff.
Review audit files to ensure quality and compliance with auditing standards.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure audits are performed in accordance with professional auditing standards and firm methodologies.
Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and professional body guidance.
Ensure audit documentation is accurate, complete, and audit-ready for review by partners or regulators.
Business Development
Support partners in identifying and developing new business opportunities.
Assist with proposals, tenders, and networking activities.
Contribute to the growth of the audit department.

Professional Qualification
Fully qualified Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ACA) or equivalent

Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
