Senior Bookkeeper Duties
Manage and maintain comprehensive financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping
Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts regularly to ensure accuracy
Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
Support audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and explanations
Monitor cash flow and assist in budgeting processes
Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial data integrity and compliance with organisational policies
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper, ideally within a firm of accountants
Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero
Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
Experience managing accounts payable and receivable processes
Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
Ability to work independently whilst maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines
Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance are preferred but not essential
