As an Account Manager, you won’t simply “check in” with customers. What you’ll be doing

Understand each customer’s business, site needs, service expectations, decision-making process and future priorities.

Lead confident commercial conversations around service, renewals, pricing, contracts and future requirements.

Resolve customer concerns quickly and work with branch, service, customer service, credit control and sales teams to ensure actions are followed through.

Keep customers updated on progress and escalate significant or recurring issues with clear context, recommended actions and an understanding of the commercial impact.

Identify opportunities to introduce additional products or services where they genuinely support the customer and strengthen the relationship.

Prioritise your time and field activity around customers with the greatest value, risk or opportunity.

Use customer feedback and account insight to improve the customer experience.

Keep CRM records accurate so activity, commitments, opportunities, renewals, risks and account health are clearly visible.

Provide clear updates on retention activity, renewal risk, customer trends and growth opportunities.

Deliver agreed targets linked to customer retention, renewals, engagement, account reviews, CRM accuracy and overall portfolio performance.
