Mechanical Lead

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead to join our team in Dublin (D15). This is a site-based role responsible for leading mechanical installation activities on major data centre projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage mechanical engineering teams and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.

Oversee mechanical installation activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings, and programme requirements.

Coordinate and liaise with the Contracts Manager, Site Engineers, Project Managers, and other discipline leads to ensure smooth project delivery.

Review mechanical drawings and specifications, identifying any errors, omissions, or potential improvements and communicating these effectively with the design team.

Propose suitable design changes to improve cost efficiency, construction sequencing, programme delivery, and overall quality.

Monitor the quality of workmanship and materials to ensure the highest standards are maintained.

Establish project resource requirements and effectively lead, motivate, and develop the mechanical project team.

Manage construction activities to ensure works are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and support effective project delivery.

Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company health and safety standards and project requirements.

Support commissioning and handover activities to ensure successful project completion.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline.

Proven experience leading mechanical teams on large-scale construction projects.

Strong knowledge and understanding of MEP construction and installation processes.

Experience delivering mechanical packages on data centre projects is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of procurement, subcontractor management, and project coordination.

Experience with construction scheduling, programming, and sequencing.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to project delivery.
