The Role

We are seeking two Senior Infrastructure Engineers to join a high-performing team supporting critical cloud and infrastructure services within a national security environment. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on the design, implementation, administration, and optimisation of enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure environments. You will play a key role in supporting cloud adoption, developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, improving operational processes, and ensuring highly available and secure cloud platforms. Working alongside architects, engineers, and security specialists, you will contribute to complex cloud transformation and infrastructure modernisation initiatives supporting mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and administer enterprise Microsoft Azure cloud environments.

Provision, configure, monitor, secure, and optimise Azure cloud services.

Design and implement highly available, multi-region cloud solutions.

Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for automated and consistent platform deployments.

Support the migration, transformation, and modernisation of applications into cloud environments.

Analyse existing operational processes, governance frameworks, and standards to identify improvement opportunities.

Implement policy-driven controls to protect cloud-hosted data and services.

Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity to ensure service reliability.

Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.

Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure cloud solutions.

Contribute to system design activities, architecture reviews, and infrastructure planning.

Produce and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.

What You'll Need

Strong experience administering and supporting Microsoft Azure cloud environments.

Experience designing and implementing highly available cloud architectures.

Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and cloud automation.

Experience supporting cloud adoption, application migration, and platform modernisation initiatives.

Solid technical background across infrastructure, virtualisation, storage, operating systems, and hosted services environments.

Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and enterprise infrastructure concepts.

Experience with availability management, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity practices.

Experience monitoring infrastructure performance, capacity utilisation, and system health.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to design large or complex systems and assess technical trade-offs and risks.

Experience working within highly regulated or security-focused environments.

Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience contributing to infrastructure governance, operational improvement, and technical standards.
