Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Product Owner to drive the successful delivery of digital products and business solutions. This role is primarily responsible for backlog ownership, requirements definition, prioritization, and collaboration with Agile delivery teams to ensure products deliver measurable business value.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong Product Manager instincts - including strategic thinking, customer empathy, data-driven decision-making, market awareness, and outcome-oriented prioritization.

The Product Owner will be expected to look beyond feature delivery and actively contribute to product direction, value realization, and continuous product improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership

Own, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog in alignment with business objectives and customer needs.

Translate business requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.

Partner closely with development, QA, UX/UI, and architecture teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and other Agile ceremonies.

Provide timely clarification and decision-making support to delivery teams.

Validate delivered solutions against defined requirements and acceptance criteria.

Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment on priorities and scope.

Continuously refine requirements and priorities based on feedback, learnings, and changing business needs.

Product Thinking & Strategic Contribution Understand the broader business context and customer problems behind requested features.

Contribute to product vision, roadmap discussions, and prioritization decisions.

Evaluate opportunities based on customer value, business impact, effort, and risk.

Leverage customer feedback, usage data, and market insights to inform product decisions.

Help define and monitor product success metrics and business outcomes.

Challenge assumptions and advocate for solutions that maximize customer and business value.

Identify opportunities for product improvement, innovation, and process optimization.

Support product discovery activities, including stakeholder interviews, workshops, and feedback gathering.

Required Skills & Competencies

Product Ownership & Agile Delivery

Strong experience working as a Product Owner in Agile/Scrum environments.

Expertise in backlog management, prioritization, user story creation, and acceptance criteria definition.

Ability to balance short-term delivery needs with longer-term business objectives.

Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Strong understanding of iterative product development and continuous delivery principles.

Product Management Mindset

Although this is a Product Owner role, successful candidates will demonstrate Product Manager qualities, including:

Customer-centric thinking and the ability to identify underlying customer needs.

Strong business acumen and understanding of value-driven prioritization.

Ability to evaluate trade-offs between customer experience, business goals, technical constraints, and delivery timelines.

Experience using data, metrics, and insights to guide product decisions.

Understanding of product success measurement, KPIs, and outcome-based delivery.

Curiosity about market trends, competitive offerings, and emerging customer expectations.

Focus on solving problems and achieving outcomes rather than simply delivering features.

Ability to engage effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership.

Experience managing competing priorities and aligning diverse stakeholder interests is a plus.

Technical Understanding

Ability to work effectively with engineering and architecture teams.

Understanding of software development lifecycles, APIs, integrations, and digital platforms.

Ability to translate technical concepts into business language and vice versa.

Awareness of technical dependencies, risks, and implementation considerations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience delivering digital products, enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, web applications, or mobile solutions.

Experience working in Agile product delivery environments.

Product Owner certifications such as: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM)
