How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Now is an exciting time to be part of Delta's Crew Technology team as we enhance the frontline employee experience through new decision making and execution applications. This is an opportunity to bring new strategies and initiatives to life while retiring legacy apps. We are seeking a Product Owner to help define the strategy, provide technical expertise, and own all current and future apps supporting tracking functions within Crew Operations. The Product Owner will work across Crew Resources, Operations Management, Flight Ops, In-Flight Service, and IT to ensure development requests are well understood across the enterprise, gain cross-divisional consensus on priorities, and ensure deliverables meet business needs. To do so, this individual will need to manage end-to-end delivery of multiple projects at once, communicate effectively, build strong cross-divisional partnerships, understand how to write project requirements, and understand the tracker, scheduler, and crew member experience.

Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):

Responsible for end-to-end product ownership and delivery duties including understanding the business problem, identifying crew member needs, and developing optimal solutions so that the business derives value from the applications

Partner with the business to deliver future strategy for back-office applications to enable transformation of crew processes

Understand the business and technology vision and translate it into strategy and requirements so that products meet the business’s needs

Work with end users (Flight Attendants, Pilots, Schedulers, Trackers, and the CRW Back Office) to understand their needs and develop product enhancements that provide value to Flight Plans and enterprise and initiative level goals

Prepare and delivery communications that include ad hoc reports, executive summaries, and formal presentations to senior leaders, so the audience understands status, what is being delivered, and the value it is adding to their specific spaces and areas

Understand FAR, FAWR, and PWA rules and deliver safe and compliant end-to-end back-office technology solutions in compliance with these rules

Prioritize product backlog, projects, and initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups so that IT is working on the right things

Work with senior leadership to deliver added value as part of initiative integration into the crew tracking and technology spaces ensuring alignment across the product, IT and business teams, while identifying opportunities to improve business processes and propose potential action plans

Build and maintain an executable product roadmap that balances business value, funding, cross-initiative dependencies, and development complexity that guides current and future development

Write features, epics, and acceptance criteria that enable a smooth handoff to development partners in IT and participate in Agile ceremonies with development teams to provide direction and drive progress

Define value of new functionality and ensure that the end product meets the needs and goals of CRW and Crew members while ensuring stakeholder alignment across the enterprise

Lead increment planning to align business priorities with available IT capacity across teams and squads

Represent CRW Technology in working groups and initiatives that require Tracking technology and business process expertise

Develop subject matter expertise for crew related data and systems that can be translated into optimal design and development

Understand the IT development space and serve as its voice in business side conversations, estimation and planning

Model Delta's Rules of the Road and core values

Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
