OVERVIEW
The Business Analyst/Project Control Officer plays a crucial role in driving transformation and automation within the organization. This position focuses on facilitating decision-making through data insights, managing various projects, and ensuring effective team tracking to support organizational goals.
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in business analysis and project control, demonstrating strong analytical skills and proficiency in data visualization. Location: FCP, Hybrid (1 day/week onsite)
Contract Length: 2 years, with the possibility of extension or conversion to FTE
Hours: 9 A.M. to 5 P.M.
Pay: T4 $ 40-41 / IC: $46-47
RESPONSIBILITIES
Convert raw data into meaningful analysis using interactive dashboards and reports to enhance decision-making.
Design, develop, and deploy business analytics solutions tailored to organizational needs.
Filter and clean data, reviewing performance indicators to identify and rectify issues.
Track team projects and initiatives, providing weekly updates and summaries for stakeholder review.
Monitor and address performance issues, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Gather business requirements and interpret data to provide ongoing analytical reports.
Develop and implement data collection strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
Stay informed about new techniques in analytics and data visualization, applying innovative approaches.
Create reporting specifications based on business needs and establish deadlines for completion.
Conduct independent analyses to resolve complex issues and document findings for supportability.
Facilitate discussions with stakeholders, employing a structured approach to analyze and communicate requirements.
Identify opportunities to enhance business analysis capabilities through knowledge sharing and technical development.
Exercise judgment to diagnose and solve problems within established guidelines.
Work independently on a variety of complex tasks, adapting to unique situations as they arise.
Take on broader responsibilities as needed to support team growth and development.
QUALIFICATIONS
Typically 2-3 years of experience in business analysis and project control, along with a post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel, and familiarity with business intelligence tools.
Experience with project tracking software such as MS Planner or MS Project.
Ability to transform data into effective reporting and analytics solutions quickly.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in handling significant amounts of information.
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to a fast-paced, frequently changing environment.
In-depth verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
Proven collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders effectively.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
Experience with business intelligence tools for data visualization and reporting.
PREFERRED
Experience in the banking or financial industry.
Background in automation and implementation projects.
Knowledge of artificial intelligence applications in business analysis.
EDUCATION
Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation
This Other role pays $40k-$41k/yr. Within typical range for other roles in Canada.
