Summary:

UST is looking for Sr. Staff Engineer/ Software Engineer

The Opportunity:

Seeking a Staff Engineer to join our CIS Product Development team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who specializes in building large-scale, cloud-based platforms to access timely, accurate and relevant data.

An ideal candidate will have built scalable platforms that can easily accommodate and integrate different data sources and provide comprehensive data capabilities to all Experian products and delivery channels.

Note:

Engineer in this position would be posted for monitoring the Production system and the monitoring hours would be coinciding with the US Pacific time zone. This responsibility will be on a rotational basis.

What you’ll be doing:

Hands-on software design and development using Spring Boot, Python, Node.JS, JavaScript and Java / J2EE technologies.

Experience developing Microservices, RESTful services, async API and web apps for several products/clients.

Good understanding of various security schemes such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, Basic Auth, APIM security configuration etc.

Implement complex architectural solutions using AWS design principles, best practices, and industry standards.

Develop software applications that are highly distributed and scalable

Responsible for code quality via test coverage and test cases

Communicate and explain technical/architectural decisions to product, development, and delivery teams

Drive continual improvement in quality and efficiency, including defect prevention/root cause analysis, as well as suggest and adopt improvements to technology and efficiency

Ability to comprehend detailed project specifications as well as the ability to adapt to various technologies and simultaneously work on multiple projects • Participates in reviews of software engineers’ code to deliver high quality solutions

Lead and mentor junior members of the team.

Research and implement performance tuning and enhancements to existing and newly developed systems to gain the most performance from existing Infrastructure

What you need:

Strong hands-on experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.

4-7 years of professional software development experience.

Good understanding of MVC architecture and Rails conventions.

Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.

Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL/MySQL and database design principles.

Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.

Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.

Experience writing unit, integration, and functional tests using RSpec, Minitest, or similar frameworks.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Experience working on microservices or distributed systems.

Desired Skills:

Experience with monitoring and logging tools - Dynatrace, Splunk etc.

Exposure to IAM products like Okta.

Experience using API Management gateways like Apigee.

Experience with Cryptography and Digital Signatures

Building automated and scheduled pipelines for analytical processes
