SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER

THE ROLE

As Senior Product Manager at Macadam, you'll own one of the most strategic areas of our product and drive it from discovery through launch and beyond. This isn't a role for someone who waits for a spec - you'll challenge requirements, propose better solutions, and self-start the validation work needed to ship with confidence. You'll balance multiple initiatives at once without losing quality, treat data as the foundation of every decision, and act as a strong internal voice for the user even when business priorities push the other way. This role is based in Barcelona. We're looking for candidates who are already living in the city or ready to relocate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Own mid- to long-term strategy for your product squad, and contribute meaningfully to company-level product strategy and OKR planning.

Lead initiatives end-to-end - from discovery and validation through launch and post-launch analysis - solving complex product problems that span multiple areas of the app.

Self-start user validation before building; never ship blind. Drive engagement and retention improvements while consistently raising the bar on user experience.

Define success metrics and set up measurement alongside every feature, not as an afterthought - and challenge data conclusions that don't hold up.

Model business cases, understand Macadam's monetisation levers, and make trade-offs between short-term wins and long-term value.

Design engagement loops and gamified experiences intentionally, using behavioural science to build healthy habits without being manipulative.

Operate as an embedded member of your squad - co-owning agile rituals (sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives) and coordinating day-to-day delivery with tech leads and QA to keep work shipping on time and at quality.

Challenge engineering on technical choices when product requirements aren't met, and translate emerging tech trends into product opportunities.

Do what it takes to move the product forward - stepping outside the traditional PM remit when needed, whether that's rolling up your sleeves on copy or digging into the data yourself.

Lead cross-functional planning conversations, mentor junior PMs, and influence product decisions beyond your immediate squad.

Manage a high workload across multiple simultaneous initiatives without losing quality or momentum.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

5+ years of Product Management experience in mobile apps.

Track record of owning complex product areas end-to-end and driving measurable outcomes in engagement, retention, or growth.

Strong data fluency: comfortable defining metrics, running experiments, and challenging conclusions that don't hold up.

Proven ability to work directly with engineering on technical trade-offs and dependencies.

Experience designing behavioural/engagement mechanics (loops, rewards, progression) grounded in real user research, not guesswork.

Comfortable operating with autonomy and ambiguity - you propose the plan, you don't wait for one.

Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish or French is a strong plus.

BONUS POINTS

Experience mentoring or informally leading other PMs.

Background in gaming, gamified or health/fitness consumer products at scales.

Passion for behavioural design and habit-formation products.
