Location: This role is based on the company premises in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork.

Duration: Permanent, Full Time / 39-hour week / Shift Pattern [Days Mon - Fri / Evenings Mon - Thurs]

Remuneration: Dependant on Experience €40000 - €55000 per annum

Due to forecast increases in workload during our peak trading period, Lisnabrin Engineering Ltd is inviting applications for the position of CNC Machinist / Toolmaker.

This role is being recruited to support the company's operational requirements during an expected increase in activity in Q4 2026.

The successful candidate will commence in August/September 2026 and will support the ongoing needs of the business during this busy period.

Job Summary:

As a CNC Machinist / Toolmaker at Lisnabrin Engineering, your role will be critical in the manufacture and building of new products and improving existing ones, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the company's ability to deliver high quality products and services to its customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Key accountabilities will include the machining of new parts and fixtures, development of CNC programs with the aid of CAM software (Hypermill), machine and tool setup, liaising with other team members, and providing feedback and support as needed.

Duties:

The Primary duties of the CNC Machinist / Toolmaker will be to take responsibility for:

Setting up and programming of 3 axis and 5 axis CNC machines

Machining of new parts and fixtures

Developing CNC programs in CAD/CAM software

Following concepts for new products/fixtures and modifying existing parts and assemblies

Providing analysis on existing programs and documenting relevant information.

Performing routine maintenance checks on the machines and equipment and providing details of any malfunctions or deviations to the Engineering Manager

Liaising with and providing feedback to the Engineering Manager

Any other duties in line with the role, as reasonably requested by management.

The Ideal Candidate will have the following:

Essential Qualifications:

2+ years recent experience in a CNC Machining Environment

Desirable Qualifications:

Toolmaking, Mechanical Engineering or related experience

Essential Skills:

Strong foundation in CNC Machining Principles

Ability to work to high level of precision

Strong problem-solving skills

Understanding of engineering and technical CAD drawings

The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Excellent communication skills

The ability to clearly understand design concepts

Ability to manage time efficiently, prioritizing tasks and working to deadlines

High level of attention to detail

Desirable Skills:

Listening

Ability to use manual turning and milling equipment

Solidworks

Essential Experience:

Machining of bespoke parts, fixtures, tooling and/or consumer products

CNC programming in CAD/CAM software

Machine and tool setup

Desirable Experience:

Fanuc, Hurco, and Doosan CNC Machines

Work / work experience in one of the following sectors:

Precision Engineering

Medical Devices

Other End-use-markets for Precision Engineering

Essential Knowledge:

Feeds and Speed calculation.

Use of measuring equipment: microscope, height gauges, micrometres, Verniers etc.

Desirable Knowledge:

Fundamentals of mechanics

Experience with prototyping processes

Knowledge of material properties and selection for various applications

3D Surface Milling
